5 Ways To Destress Like A Celeb

Five Ways to Destress Like A Celeb

“There may be many bumps on the road ahead, and I may experience pain at some point, but I’m not afraid. How I proceed in those situations is the most important thing,” says V.

The plight to find our balance is daily. Often we look to celebrities and their destressing habits to feel okay about initiating our own. #BTSLoveMyself became a global stance on the importance of being selfish and allowing yourself time to relax.

Why do we look to celebs for advice or a sign that it's okay to rest? Because we know with their fast-paced lives they face stress daily. Not only will we find our favorite song to chill to but when you really need to relax or need a good laugh, it’s great to look to your favorite shows and find the relief you need.

Mental health is important to everyone, celebrity or not. We all go through hard times, finding ways to chill or relax is sometimes just a song or show away.

Tip 1: Move Your Body

  • If you like to dance, get up and dance. You are never too old to move your body, no matter how big or small. Need motivation? Watch Tik Tok challenges for inspiration.
  • I used to be a huge runner. Now I can barely walk a mile, but I do try and when that gets boring or tiring. Dancing always does the trick.
  • The #NIAHealth website says, “Research shows the benefits of exercise and physical activity go beyond just physical well-being.”

Tip 2: Mindfulness and Meditation

  • Many celebrities practice yoga or meditation for relaxation and a peace of mind.
  • Every morning for 5-10 minutes I watch “Awaken By,” videos on YouTube. They help me relax and breathe properly.
  • What helps you unwind? Yoga? Pilates? Walking? Surfing? Whatever it is, do it and enjoy yourself.

Tip 3: Creative Expression

  • Thinking of BTS members, they all have their thing, but I am sure we all can agree that using their creativity is one of them. I love to write stories. What do you love to do?
  • Try journaling, painting, or reading to express yourself.
  • An article on Diversus Health says, “Being creative can increase positive emotions, reduce depressive symptoms and anxiety, and improve the function of our immune systems.”

Tip 4: Disconnect to Reconnect

  • We have seen on social media how our favorite celebs have announced they are stepping away to destress and chill. Getting off social media every now and then is very helpful.
  • It is also important to reconnect in a positive way. Look to your mentors for guidance. What do they do with their social media influence?
  • Positive connections help us all and allow time to focus on personal relationships, nature, or hobbies.

Tip 5: Stay Grateful and Positive

  • How do celebs get their positive energy and gratitude? They reach out to their fans. ARMY knows what I mean. Reach out to your biggest fan, get some love and give some in return.
  • Practicing gratitude daily, whether you post ten affirmations on your mirror or write down your thankful list, these actions can have a huge impact on your well-being.
  • Think positive! It has been shown to reduce stress and eliminate negative self-talk.

Trust me when I say, I know these tips are no easy tasks, especially when we are having a tough time. However, when I can’t take it anymore and have no idea what to do – I get up and dance or do yoga or I sit back, close my eyes and just breathe.

One tip at a time. One day at a time.

It’s important to find your balance. You work too hard not to have the time to relax. Find the time for you. This world wouldn’t be the same without you.
